Western Odisha Dalit Suraksha Parisad demanded judicial inquiry in Lathor incident
Western Odisha Dalit Suraksha Parisad has demanded to the government to take action against the Bolangir collectore,Bolangir SP & the Khaprakhol thana in charge with this by condemning the incident of attacked on dalits at Lathor under Khaprakhol Thana of Bolangir district on Sunday the 22nd of January 2012, demanding Judicial inquiry into the incident.
In a conference room at Sujata hotel at a press conference held by the Dalit Suraksha Parisad, president Nihal Kumar Singh said that by taking a small incident on 22nd of January an untoward incident occurred in the Lathor of Bolangir district, but even after the information the associated Khaprakhol, police has not arrived on the spot of the incident. If the police arrived at time the situation would be handle in time & the attackers neither atrocities on dalits nor fire to their homes, unfortunately that did not happen. But the police arrived at afternoon and try to handle the situation after complaining to Uttaranchal IG, R P Coche.
Nirmal Singh also regretted that the police have not arrested yet the two main accused of the incident. The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced aid amount of 1-1 lakh Rupees for the affected Dalit families but operations against the persons responsible for this phenomenon has not been yet started.
