Hockey Odisha to host Nalco Cup hockey championship from May 2
Hockey Odisha is all set to host the Nalco Cup State Hockey Championship at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack from May 2 to 7.
The affiliated unit of the State association would participate in the six-day long tournament. Odisha Police, Rourkela Steel Plant, Nalco, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Ganjam, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Phulbani, Balangir, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, East Coast Railway and CRPF are the teams expected to participate in the knockout round format.
The state team would be selected from the meet to represent the state in the fourth coming inter-state championship.
In the inaugural match, Cuttack would meet CRPF Bhubaneswar under floodlight.
Hockey India umpire committee chairman Shakil Kureshi would conduct a three-day long workshop for the state umpires from May 5 to 7, informed Hockey Odisha general secretary Pratap Satpathy.
