One million job opportunities in 12th Plan
The Odisha government will create one million new job opportunities for youths in the state during the 12th five year plan (2012-17).
In a high level meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the state secretariat on Monday, it was decided to create at least two lakh jobs per year during the next five years .To make the youths employable, technical training will be provided in construction activities, driving, security guards, manufacturing , health services retail and IT and ITes and telecom and banking sectors.
Patnaik emphasized on the infrastructure development of the Industrial Training Institutes (ITI’s) and polytechnics and modernization of different trades of technical education.
To meet the job requirements of 1.35 crore by 2026, forty three more ITIs and polytechnic institutes will be opened in the state during this year. Out of these five ITS and 10 skill development centres will be established in naxal infested districts like Rayagada, Sambalpur, Malkangiri and Deogarh.
Patnaik also underlined the need to expedite the setting up of ITIs and polytechnics by the corporate houses as a part of their corporate social responsibility.
