Security forces and Maoists exchanged fire near Gandpali village in Bargarh district on Chhattisgarh-Odisha border on Saturday. There was no report of any casualty. “The exchange took plase in Gandhamardhan forest range. We don’t have any information about casualty or injury among the rebels. Securitymen are safe,” DIG of police (NR) Sanjay Kumar said. The DIG said the Maoists opened fire on the security men during a combing operation but they fled after counter firing.
