HC bench: Plea for Sambalpur
Senior Congress leader and former MLA Aswini Guru has urged the state government to name Sambalpur as the site for proposed high court bench while responding to the query of Union law minister in connection with its establishment in western Odisha.
He said establishment of a permanent bench of high court in western region is a longstanding demand of lawyers and government should take immediate steps for establishing the same. “Though the central action committee of western Odisha all bar associations has suggested ‘any place of western Odisha’, but to my mind Sambalpur is the ideal place,” Guru said while talking to the media here on Wednesday.
