Firing between Maoist and security personnel in forest, Sambalpur
On Thursday, firing between Maoist and security personnel in Gudguda forest, Sambalpur. This happened after a gap of 3 weeks in Jujumura block.
Security personnel got information about the Maoists presence inside the Gudguda forest area between Tamparsingha and Marangbahal villages, Then on Thursday, a joint operation between CRPF and SOG was took place.
During the operation, the Maoists suddenly opened fire at the security personnel who immediately retaliated. After 30 minutes firing, the Maoists fled the area. However, reports said, there was another round of firing around 5 PM that continued for over an hour.
On Thursday evening, Sambalpur SP Pratik Mohanty said the combing operation in the area has been intensified further. However he refused to give details of the encounter, that happened on that combined operation.
It may be mentioned that, Junu Dehuri is presently leading the Maoist movement in the area in collaboration with some top cadres from the neighboring state Jharkhand. Junu Dehuri is hardcore Maoist from Tamparsingha village.
