Recket of forgery matriculation certificates came to fore, three arrested
Bargarh town police arrested Sarat kumar Ratha, on charges of printing and supplying forged matriculation certificates. He runs an open school.
Police have also seized a scanner, computers and various documents from his possession besides detaining two other youths. They have been identified as Tilak Rout of Bargarh town and Umesh Kumar Sahu of Bhinjetora village in Bhatli block.
The youths has been arrested for trying to get admission in Panchayat Junior College here by using forged certificates procured from Ratha.
Sources said the incident came to fore after the principal in-charge of the college Pandaba Behera lodged an FIR over submission of fake certificates by nine applicants for admission into Plus Two. Acting on the complaint, police began investigation and found that Ratha had provided the forged certificates to the applicants after charging Rs.12,000 for each certificate.
A case has been registered. Efforts are on to nab the other seven applicants.
