Sambalpur University entrance on
The entrance examination for admission to postgraduate courses of Sambalpur University, which begun on June 23, will conclude on July 1.
“The entrance examination for self-financing courses will continue till July 5,” said chairman of the PG council of Sambalpur University, Prasanna Kumar Tripathy.
“The admission process will begin after July 5. The result of the entrance examination will be published within a week after July 5. The university will send intimation to those students, who qualify in the entrance examination,” said an official of the office of university’s PG council.
This year, the university has received more application forms as compared to previous years. The university has received 3,545 application forms for admission to its 22 departments. A total of 3,291 application forms have been received for regular postgraduate courses and 254 application forms have been received for self-financed courses. Last year, the university had received 3,026 applications for the 22 departments.
“The increase in the number reflects that students are interested to pursue general courses. The scope in the general courses has increased now. The teaching standard of Sambalpur University has considerably improved,” said a teacher of the university’s political science department, Rajat Kujur.
“I have come here with my brother to take the entrance examination. The atmosphere of the university is very peaceful. I hope to be selected,” said Ipsita Mishra, who had come here to appear the entrance examination from Bargarh district.
