Odisha in near-total lock down: 8 towns and 5 districts shut till March 29 to stop spread of CoronaVirus
Khurda, Ganjam, Cuttack, Angul and Kendrapada, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Bhadrak, Puri, Jajpur Road, Jajpur Town, and Rourkela will be in a lockdown till March 29 in the wake of the novel CoronaVirus.

Odisha government ordered for a lockdown of eight towns and five districts including Cuttack and state’s capital Bhubaneswar in order to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, or Covid-19, outbreak.
These districts are Khurda, Ganjam, Cuttack, Angul and Kendrapada, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Bhadrak, Puri, Jajpur Road, Jajpur Town, and Rourkela.
These 13 places will be in a lockdown from 7 am of March 22 to 9 pm of March 29.
A press release from Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said, ‘To knockdown Covid-19, Naveen Patnaik locks down 40 per cent of Odisha including state capital for a week.’
Airports, railway stations, bus stands and essential services have been exempted.
Odisha in India has become the first state to go for a lockdown to contain spread of the novel coronavirus.
Two positive cases of the novel corona virus were reported in Odisha and both have foreign travel history.
