10 feet breach in embankment in Upper Indravati Right Main Canal in Kalahandi
There has been a 10 feet breach in the embankment in Upper Indravati Right Main Canal in Kalahandi district of Odisha.
According to reports, the incident has occurred near Badaphunda village in Kutrikhamar in the Sadar block of the district.
Reports say that, a 10-feet breach has been created in the Indravati Right Main Canal. There is a pronounced danger of soil and sand burying the agricultural land due to the breach.
Therefore, the farmers and locals have feared the loss of crops. Local people said that due to improper construction work, crops are always damaged due to the breach of the canals.
The departmental officer went to the spot and assessed the situation. It has been reported that the canal is being repaired.
Immediate compensation has been demanded by the local farmers for the affected farmlands.
